LOUISVILLE, KY. (WDRB) -- The National Weather Service confirmed Wednesday that a tornado struck Hodgenville, Ky.

One mobile home was lifted off the ground and flew across the street with its owner still inside.  Debris from one home was spread across 100 yards.

Robert Patteson says he saw a neighbor's home headed for him:  "When I seen the debris start coming, I told my wife, 'Here it comes.'  No more than I said that, I seen it.  It was right here in my back yard....I seen everything flying right off their house."

According to a clerk in the Larue County Sheriff's Office, he personally witnessed a subdivision virtually "wiped out." He said he saw a funnel cloud sweep down and hit several homes in a subdivision off of Lincoln Blvd., near a gas station called IGA Express.

He said the structures are still standing, but lots of roofs are gone and the exteriors of several homes are damaged. He said practically every home was, "torn to pieces."  He continued, "It's like it just came down, wiped that subdivision out and then went back up."

He says he saw this when he went to make sure a friend was OK.

There are power outages all over Hodgenville.  There are no reports of any injuries at this time.
