LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Inmates at the Scott County Jail donated hand-made scarves and hats to homeless people in the community.
An employee of the Scott County Sheriff's Office started a program at the jail teaching inmates to knit hats and scarves. Now, those inmates donated four large boxes of the warm clothing to the Scott County Health Department.
They will be passed out to those in need of warmth.
In return, the health department made a donation to the sheriff's department of emergency warming blankets for deputies to use to keep people warm during unexpected events.
