LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Crews removed statues at the historic Louisville Water Tower on Tuesday to be cleaned for the first time in 30 years.

The water tower has 10 statues that have not been touched since 1990.

The statues were installed on the tower in the early 1900s and were removed as part of a large restoration project.

The Louisville Water Tower isn't in use anymore, but it's the oldest standing ornamental water tower in the United States.
