LOUISVILLE, KY. (WDRB) -- Police may charge four young teens for an inferno at a western Kentucky popcorn plant.

The Union County Sheriff's Office tells WDRB that four kids between 12 and 14 years old built a small fire in the back of the plant. Officials believe the fire got into dry grass and accelerated.

Officers say witnesses came forward telling them several children were seen running from behind the Uncle Mark's Popcorn plant in Morganfield Wednesday night just before the fire started.  Several propane tanks exploded in the fire that destroyed the plant.

Nearby homes had to be evacuated and officials say one woman had to be treated for smoke inhalation.

The children could be charged with arson after the county attorney reviews the case.
