LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) — A new UofL Health facility in downtown Louisville is giving children with spinal cord injuries and neurological conditions expanded access to specialized care.
The center is located inside Frazier Rehab Institute and brings advanced equipment, therapy services and research together in one dedicated space aimed at improving recovery for young patients.
It will serve as the new home for the Kosair for Kids Center for Pediatric Neuro-Recovery, which focuses on combining treatment and innovation to support long-term healing.
Families said the impact is already being felt.
"I am so excited for not only our family to continue our progression but also that this space gives hope for additional families to be able to be a part of this program, which is absolutely amazing," said Amanda Welker, mother of a patient.
The center is expected to serve as both a treatment hub and a research space designed to improve outcomes for patients over time.
