LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- A five-year-old child is dead after being hit by a truck Friday afternoon.
It happened shortly before noon, on Whispering Brook Drive, near Blue Lick Road.
According to Louisville Metro Police spokesman Dwight Mitchell, the child was riding a bicycle near the entrance to the Victoria Garden Apartments when they were hit by a white Ford truck.
The child was rushed to Kosair Children's Hospital after the accident, but died as a result of the injuries, according to Mitchell.
It was not a hit-and-run crash, Mitchell said.
