LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- The Jefferson County Coroner's Office has released the identities of two people who died in a double homicide in the Beechmont neighborhood Wednesday morning.

The victims have been identified as 27-year-old Linda Leslie and 32-year-old Julian Ramirez . The coroner's office says Ramirez died of a single gunshot wound and Leslie died of multiple gunshot wounds.

WDRB spoke with a man who says he was neighbors with Ramirez for about the past four months. The man asked us not to share his name, but he said that he saw Ramirez just a few hours before the shooting took place.

"He was acting normal. He came out of his house and waved at me, and I waved at him," the neighbor said. "He stayed to himself a lot ... He wasn't friendly."

Just after 6:30 a.m. Wednesday, officers were called to the 4800 block of South Third Street near Woodlawn Avenue on reports of a suspicious vehicle.

When officers arrived, LMPD spokesman Dwight Mitchell says a man and woman were found dead in a blue car parked in the lot of the Community of Christ Church.

Detectives spent Wednesday morning talking to witnesses in the neighborhood. They hope that since the bodies were found right next to an apartment complex, residents may have heard or seen something.

One man we talked to says he didn't recognize the car and called police.

"The car was pointed so it could go either way in the alley, whichever way was open," Michael Wiseman said. "I had no idea somebody was dead. I didn't talk to them or anything else. It just was set up to look like a robbery."

Neighbors say the neighborhood used to be safe, but lately they've seen drugs moving into the area.
