LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Vintage aircrafts along with a lot of history were all on display at Bowman Field Saturday.
The two-day BowmanFest features military displays along with a 5K run and walk. Over 40 vintage aircrafts are on display this weekend and some of them were giving rides.
There were also exhibits with RC plans and attendees could talk with veterans groups about their experiences.
For many it's about appreciating history.
"I love planes, man," Billy Fontaine said. "Aviation is really cool. This is a good way for the youth to kind of see what is going on aviationwise, it is good historical value as well. Get an idea of where flight came from and where it is going."
There's also food trucks and bars. The event continues Sunday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. It costs $50 for a family of four or $20 per person. All active military and veterans can attend for free.
