LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Dozens of children will be able to sleep in new beds as the start of school approaches.

Sleep in Heavenly Peace, Metro United Way Ford, volunteers and local labor unions hosted the third annual Bed Build for children in west Louisville.

Two-hundred beds were made on Saturday.

Members of the Central Midwest Carpenter's Union cut and prepared the wood for the beds and will set up and install the beds.

"There are some Kentucky kids that don't get that moment but because of this charity more and more do," Gov. Andy Beshear said. "There's just a whole lot of people who care a whole lot today."

Metro United Way sponsors the collaborative effort.
