LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- There was a fundraiser in Louisville for four-legged friends on Sunday.
WAGS Pet Therapy of Kentucky hosted Walk, Wiggle and WAGS Pets and People walk-a-thon at Broad Run Park on Bardstown Road in southeast Jefferson County. There were activities and vendors for owners and their pets, along with raffle tickets.
Admission to walk was $25 and all proceeds went to WAGS efforts to provide pet therapy services to those in need.
"We need to raise money especially for awareness," said Chris Fulkerson, WAGS event chair. "We have a waiting list at the facilities now that would love for our therapy dogs and teams to come in. We visit schools, and hospitals, the airport and senior care facilities."
There was also live music, contests and prizes.
WAGS mission is to utilize the relationship between humans and animals to enhance health, independence and quality of life. To learn more, click here.
