Water main break causes hole in the road in Old Louisville neighborhood Monday morning

The road caved in at the intersection, allowing the pipes to easily be seen.

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- A water main break caused significant road damage in the Old Louisville neighborhood on Monday morning.

Louisville Water Company posted on their Facebook page that the water main broke at West Kentucky and Fifth Streets, near Memorial Auditorium.

The road caved in and caused a deep hole to form in the intersection, where pipes could easily been seen.

Louisville Water said crews are on scene and they are working to restore service in the area.
