LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Women were celebrated Saturday at an event called Women's Equality is Human Equality.
It was held at Central High School in the Russell neighborhood and celebrated around the nation commemorating the passage of the 19th amendment and women's right to vote.
While the event was focused on women, it was open to everyone.
"I think they can feel like their vote doesn't matter or that their voice doesn't matter so this is just a day that's celebrated around the country every year to remind people of the importance and specifically women," said Gretchen Hunt, the director of Louisville Metro Office for Women.
Voting registration was available.
