LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- The Transit Authority of River City will offer free rides Nov. 7 for Election Day.
In a news release Monday, the Jefferson County Clerk's Office said the fare-free rides will be available across all routes.
Service will also be fare-free for TARC3 paratransit customers on Election Day.Â
"Keeping the community moving forward is the most important part of what we do,"Â Carrie Butler, executive director of TARC, said in a news release. "Offering fare-free rides on Election Day so people can vote at their precinct polling location fulfils that mission in more ways than one. Getting where you need to go that day is as easy as hopping on and having a seat."
"TARC’s year-after-year dedication to this effort is key to providing registered voters the opportunity to make their voices heard on Election Day," Bobbie Holsclaw, Jefferson County Clerk and chairperson of the county board of elections," said in a news release Monday.
Polls are open from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. for people to vote in the general election.
