In their last meeting, the JCPS board voted on some expense cuts to address the $188 million they overspent.

After the meeting, they ducked out, refusing to answer reporters' questions. These officials may believe they are not accountable to the media, but the only reason the media exists is to be your advocate and ask the questions you can't.

If you hold a school board seat, you can't duck tough questions, especially when they are uncomfortable.

Here's what our viewers had to say:

"It was totally disrespectful. He wanted that job and now he's running from it? He should be fired."

"I don't blame the school board for running. The way they've handled this school deficit, they deserve to be running — running to the unemployment line when election day comes around."

"What happened to being transparent? If you can't stand the heat, get out of the kitchen and go find another job that you don't have to answer questions."

"They need to be held responsible and they need to answer questions from reporters. Because that's a lot of money and a big budget, and a lot of stuff gets wasted. So thank you for doing your job and for pursuing this."

"I don't think that the board ducked the tough questions. I think they simply took safety precautions by protecting their members from being injured by a single or multiple angry person."
