The super-secret Louisville main post office finally opened its doors and let Congressman Morgan McGarvey in to see the progress it made in trying to get weeks-old mail delivered. Good for him.
The bad news is they wouldn't let any media in with him. No cameras. No interviews. So I can only imagine how the big bosses reacted when the workers told them the mail was piling up.
WDRB has repeatedly asked Communications Director Susan Wright for an interview with anyone. Via email she said "We decline your interview request."
She did issue a generic statement with two things of interest.
First, "We apologize for any inconvenience you may have experienced." When people don't receive their bills in time to pay them on time, or when their checks are delivered late and they are slapped with late fees, or when their medicine is in the bottom of a bin somewhere, that is more than a mere inconvenience.
The second part of the statement said "We appreciate your patience." I'm not patient. Were you patient? Forcing us to wait for our mail should not be confused with patience.
What do you think about what is now apparently a top-secret government agency? Let us know.
I'm Bill Lamb, and that's my Point of View.
