Look up the acronym SNAFU. There is no better descriptor for a dysfunctional Congress that has, for the second time in less than six months, cut off the paychecks of our TSA officers. It is simply unconscionable that our so-called "leaders" would allow this to happen.

TSA workers are not wealthy elites. Like millions of hardworking Americans, many live paycheck to paycheck. They simply want to perform the honorable work of keeping our skies safe, paying their bills and providing for their families.

Senate Democrats are refusing to approve the full DHS budget unless it includes sweeping reforms to immigration enforcement and a reduction in ICE tactics. Republicans have rejected these changes, accusing Democrats of holding essential security funding "hostage" for political leverage.

You know what? I don't care.

What I care about is that, once again, Congress is treating American citizens like cannon fodder in their political wars. To force airport security lines to stretch for hundreds of yards, crippling the travel industry and exhausting the public, is a Congress-inflicted crisis. It is gross negligence disguised as governance.

If you have to travel during this Washington-initiated chaos, even if your patience is a distant memory, take a moment to thank the TSA workers. They showed up to work today knowing they won't be paid for weeks. They are doing their jobs. It's time Congress did theirs.

I'm Bill Lamb, and that's my Point of View.
