The awareness effort officially kicks off Monday. Data shows about a dozen children out of every thousand experience maltreatment in Kentucky.

Serenity McKinney's body was found in a wooded area of West Point, near the Jefferson County, Bullitt County line, on Feb. 18, 2022.

It happened at the Brooklawn Child and Family Services location off Goldsmith Lane and Bardstown Road.
