General Motors will produce a fully electric Chevrolet Corvette, GM President Mark Reuss announced in a LinkedIn post Monday morning.
Museum officials said the General Motors Technical Center in Warren, Michigan, is serving as the design inspiration for the gallery.
The incident happened on Friday monring near Columbus East High School.
There is no set date for completion of the proposed project. The museum is still gathering funds and is asking for donations.
What is believed to be the track-focused Z06 version of the first mid-engine Corvette was filmed by a bystander while being tested on a winding California mountain highway near Borrego Springs.
Production of the 2020 Corvette is expected to begin in February.
Both men posted $1,000 bail and were released from the Warren County Regional Jail.
Chevrolet can make around 40,000 Corvettes at its Bowling Green, Kentucky, factory in 2020, Motor Trend reports.
