Members of Louisville Metro Council have canceled regular meetings Thursday afternoon in order to hold a special meeting with Louisville Mayor Greg Fischer to discuss safety concerns.

Community activist Christopher 2X said — as of the end of April — Louisville has now seen the deadliest 4-month stretch of gun violence in the city's history.

The plan would seek to sway people away from crime.
