Dee's was especially popular around Derby season. It was known for its hats and decorations.

Dee's first opened on Shelbyville Road in St. Matthews 52 years ago, selling gifts, home decor and more.

Kathy and Larry Olliges made the announcement in a post to the Dee's Facebook page Tuesday evening. 

Dee's Hats, located at 5045 Shelbyville Road, held its 50th Spring House house on Saturday, March 7.
