Construction on the $5.8 billion BlueOval SK Battery Park began in October 2022 and is expected to be complete sometime in 2025. 

The plant, to be built on land being readied for industrial development about 100 miles west of Detroit, would start making batteries in 2026. 

The plant will produce battery cells and modules to power the next generation of electric vehicles.
