The teen was a former member of the Taylorsville-Spencer County Fire Protection District Jr. Firefighters Program from 2022-2023.

Jacob T. McClanahan died when he stopped to help a stranded driver, who shot him with a shotgun before being shot and killed by police.

The fire occurred at an apartment building near 8th Street and Crestview Court at 2:06 p.m.

Terrell Christina Bryant remains in the burn unit at University of Louisville Hospital.
