LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- A new fire training center dedicated to a firefighter who died in 2021 is now open.
Harrison County cut the ribbon on the Jacob T. McClanahan Training Center Sunday afternoon.
McClanahan, 24, died when he stopped to help a stranded driver, who shot him with a shotgun before police killed the driver.
McClanahan volunteered for several fire departments around Harrison County.
The new training center is part of a state program helping rural fire departments. Earlier this month, the sate announced a similar training center will be built at Paoli.Â
