LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) — A Louisville man was taken into custody Wednesday after investigators seized approximately one pound of fentanyl and two handguns, according to the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office.
Diyun Byars, 47, was arrested on federal charges in connection to an ongoing narcotics investigation.
The sheriff's office said the amount of fentanyl recovered was "substantial" and "potentially deadly." Investigators also said Byars is prohibited from possessing firearms because he is a convicted felon.
Byars is currently being held in the Oldham County Detention Center. The investigation is ongoing.
