At Emerson Park in the Schnitzelburg neighborhood, the seeds being planted in an area that was considered a food desert.

Dollar General is currently under construction on three new locations in Louisville, according to the company. 

The farmers market is open from 8 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Saturdays.

The mobile market will be a converted 50-foot trailer stocked with fresh produce, meat, dairy, eggs, butter and juice.

Fresh produce will soon be available to south Louisville families.
