Louisville Metro Police Chief Jacquelyn Gwinn-Villaroel told the Council Public Safety Committee Wednesday evening that the department's current helicopter is so old, they can't buy parts for it.
In case you missed it, NASA's Ingenuity helicopter on Mars is "no longer capable of flight." After a flight on January 18, Ingenuity sent images back to Earth showing damage to "one or more" of the rotor blades making additional flights impossible.
Ingenuity, the Mars helicopter that has been taking flights from the Red Planet since February 2021, was grounded last week because of weather.
After a couple of delays last week, the Mars Helicopter is scheduled to attempt its first flight Monday morning!
