Higher pump prices also mean higher gas taxes, due to the way Indiana structures its fuel tax system.

The increase means Hoosiers will pay more at the gas pump this summer.

A total of 57 cents per gallon in state taxes will be charged during September under rate changes released Wednesday by the Indiana Department of Revenue.
