A group of Republicans in Frankfort now plan to form a commission to study whether or not the district should be split into smaller districts.
Looking at total instructional minutes lost this school year, from Oct. 9 to Oct. 31, JCPS saw students lose 1,346,272 minutes. Last year, between Oct. 6 to Oct. 31, 323,972 minutes were lost.

Remember, many families have the option to attend a JCPS school close to home, or further away, and this gets even more complicated next year.
The district announced on Monday that its Chief Operating Officer had accepted a reassignment.
The district said families who need help with transportation or have questions should contact their child's school first.
