Group Violence Intervention, or GVI, has produced major results in other cities.

In weeks, the city will stage interventions with some of those at risk of committing violent crimes.

Under the enforcement changes, pedestrians must stay out of the streets, and cars and pedestrians will not be allowed to block intersections for any length of time, LMPD said. 

Jeronda Majors, principal at Knight Middle School, was arrested on charges including criminal trespass, disorderly conduct and intimidating a participant in a legal process, which is a felony.

Louisville Metro Police Department said around 8:30 p.m. protesters blocked a car whose driver was trying to leave a parking garage on Armory and Liberty streets.

The group will hold its first meeting Friday. 

Indiana State Police in southern Indiana and Louisville Metro Police say there will be extra patrols on the street specifically looking for impaired drivers. 

Those forking over the cash say they're preserving Americans' rights, but critics are worried that their actions could put the public at risk as well as the inmates themselves.
