“I’ve made a lot of people mad and I’ve made a lot of people happy,” Jefferson Circuit Court Judge Melissa Logan Bellows said of her March 13 ruling. “But that’s the job of the judge.”
The appeals court ruling means most abortions are illegal in Kentucky, for now.
The decision to allow the jurors to speak publicly lies with Jefferson Circuit Judge Annie O'Connell, who on Oct. 8 said she will get a ruling out "as quickly as I can."
The ruling is the first of its kind by an appellate court in Kentucky even though there have been numerous cases where police used real-time cell phone locations from carriers to track suspects without first obtaining warrants.
"It's bedrock in this country," said attorney Greg Belzley. "You don't pay for a crime you didn't commit."
