The shooting was reported in the 6300 block of Johnsontown Road around 8:15 p.m. Wednesday.

LMPD's Homicide Unit is investigating, but have no suspects and no arrests have been made. 

After just two reported homicides in the first half of February, there have been at least nine people killed in the past week in Louisville.

Detectives are working to determine what led up to the shooting.

In an update Friday morning, police said that driver of the vehicle the man was hanging out of was not responsible for his death after initially saying he "swerved into oncoming traffic intentionally."

Police also released images of a pickup truck and a white U-Haul van they think they're using.
