16-year-old boy hospitalized after shooting in south Louisville

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) — A 16-year-old boy is in the hospital after being shot near Pleasure Ridge Park Wednesday night.

Louisville Metro Police were called to the 6900 block of Daybreak Court around 8:15 p.m. on a reported shooting, department spokesperson Dwight Mitchell said in a release.

When they arrived, police found a 16-year-old boy who had been shot. Mitchell said he was alert and conscious when he was taken to University of Louisville Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Further investigation revealed that the shooting actually happened in the 6900 block of Daybreak Court, just down the road from where the 16-year-old victim was found.

Mitchell said police are following leads on a possible suspect.
