LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) — Authorities have identified the man shot and killed by an off-duty Jeffersontown police officer Tuesday

According to the Jefferson County Coroner, 43-year-old Marco Dorsey was shot in the 10000 block of Robsion Road, near Chambers Way and Billtown Road.

Kentucky State Police said Thursday that Jeffersontown Police received multiple 911 calls that a man was in the area making threatening statements and causing damage to vehicles and residences.

According to police, it was also reported that Dorsey had an argument with a roommate and recently had alcohol and left.

An off-duty officer was in the area and responded to the scene and confronted Dorsey. At least one shot was fired, killing Dorsey. The off-duty officer, who was not injured, then called for backup.

It's unknown at this time if Dorsey had a weapon.

The Kentucky State Police Critical Incident Response Team is still investigating.
