The effort is meant to be a link between companies, organizations and individuals that support young people from age 10 to 24.

The council also approved federal funds going to the Louisville Metro Police Department.

Some council members questioned whether or not funding these programs is worthwhile while the city slashes other departments like Louisville Metro Police Department.
