Two men accused of street racing at speeds exceeding 100 miles an hour on the Watterson Expressway earlier this week have been released after their arrest, but they won't be getting their cars back anytime soon.
LMPD said officers also found a Samurai-style sword in the dash of one of the cars.
Five people were arrested for street racing Sunday night down Main Street in downtown Louisville.
Myrtle Wacker, 77, died in the crash. Her husband, Ronald Wacker, 74, was hospitalized with serious injuries.
LMPD officers also seized two guns.
LMPD said he was caught on social media posts, cellphone videos and crime center cameras.

Louisville police are asking for help to find several people who jumped on the hood of a police car last weekend as vehicles blocked all lanes of traffic on New Cut Road to spin donuts and burnouts at the intersection.
In October 2023, LMPD said four people had died in the last year in street racing-related crashes.
So far this year, LMPD has impounded 70 cars for racing.
LMPD said its traffic unit is ready to respond, and they’ve already been able to stop drivers by being at the right place at the right time.
