LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Two Louisville men were indicted for murder and other charges last week in connection to a fatal crash on Bardstown Road in October

Police said Yusnier Pachecho, 42, and Adam Steele, 38, were drag racing in Louisville on Oct. 25. Police said Pachecho was driving a white Ford Mustang at nearly 120 miles per hour and drag racing with a blue BMW, driven by Steele, when the crash happened on Bardstown Road, south of Interstate 265. Investigators said Pachecho slammed into a RAV-4 that was turning onto the roadway.

Myrtle Wacker, 77, died in the crash. Her husband, Ronald Wacker, 74, was hospitalized with serious injuries, including broken ribs, a punctured lung and a lacerated liver.

During a hearing in November, LMPD Detective Clarence Buford, Jr. testified that a data recorder in Pachecho's Mustang indicated it was traveling 119 miles per hour at impact, and never attempted to slow down.

Police said Steele left the scene in his blue BMW, and they were able to track him down using Flock cameras.

Pacheco was indicted on charges including murder, racing motor vehicle on public highway, reckless driving, wanton endangerment and assault, among other charges. Pacheco's arraignment is scheduled for Jan. 6, 2025.

Steele was also indicted on charges of murder, wanton endangerment, racing motor vehicle on public highway, reckless driving and assault, among other charges. Steele's arraignment is also scheduled for Jan. 6, 2025.

Both men are being housed in Louisville Metro Corrections.
