LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- New video shows the moments before a deadly drag racing crash on Bardstown Road last month.
The video and other new details were presented during a probable cause hearing on Wednesday for Yusnier Pachecho, 42, and Adam Steele, 38, who are charged in the case.
On Oct. 25, police said Pachecho was driving a white Ford Mustang at nearly 120 miles per hour and drag racing with a blue BMW, driven by Steele, when the crash happened on Bardstown Road, south of the Gene Snyder.
Investigators said Pachecho slammed into a RAV-4 that was turning onto the roadway.
Myrtle Wacker, 77, died in the crash. Her husband, Ronald Wacker, 74, was hospitalized with serious injuries, including broken ribs, a punctured lung and a lacerated liver.
Family members of the couple packed the courtroom during Wednesday's hearing. Det. Clarence Buford, Jr. testified that a data recorder in Pachecho's Mustang indicated it was traveling 119 miles per hour at impact, and never attempted to slow down.
"Were you ever able to determine whether Mr. Pachecho ever hit his brakes," the prosecutor asked Buford, who replied "He did not, no."
"Were you able to determine whether he ever let up on the gas?" the prosecutor asked. Buford responded, "he did not."
Police said Steele left the scene in his blue BMW, and they were able to track him down using Flock cameras.
Prosecutors charged Steele with complicity to murder and assault on Wednesday, on top of the other charges he was also facing, including racing and evidence tampering.
Pachecho is charged with murder, assault, wanton endangerment, and other charges.
Both men have pleaded not guilty to the charges against them.
