Taylor County High School teacher Sydney Newton was surprised with a $25,000 Milken Educator Award, honoring her excellence in teaching and impact on students and the community.

Jessica Goodman, the school's science, technology, engineering and math lab teacher, received the prestigious Milken Educator Award during a ceremony at Farmer Elementary.

Angie Beavin is being recognized for her success in improving math and reading skills at her school.
