Lawn care services rely on gasoline, diesel, fertilizer, and expensive equipment to keep business running and grass short. 

Many fire hydrants are partially or completely covered by long grass, shrubbery or foliage.

Right now, there's a problem that's allowing the yards to reach new heights:  the city can't keep up with mowing them.
