Luna is a 2-year-old black Labrador.

Norton Children's Hospital received around 8,000 cards and 1,500 stuffed animals for hospitalized children.

Norton officials say seeing the smiles on all the kids' faces also had a big impact on their families, doctors and nurses. 

The facility is designed to help kids and teens manage any long-term symptoms from the virus, the hospital said in a news release Tuesday.
