An emergency shelter in Louisville is taking a different approach to getting the homeless off the streets during the frigid weather.

If passed as written now, the new ordinance would make it unlawful for people to store personal belongings on public streets, alleys or sidewalks, unless otherwise permitted.

A local outreach group believes a notice to vacate at homeless camps downtown could be posted within the next several weeks.
