The person had multiple other health conditions that contributed to the death.

Health officials say the risk of infection is still low, but some segments of the population may be more at risk.

Only a small number of vaccines were made available for use in Kentucky due to the low number of monkeypox cases statewide. 

According to the CDC, there has been no recorded cases of monkeypox in Kentucky so far. 

Many are concerned after Kentucky's first suspected case of monkeypox was found in a Jefferson County resident last week -- but infectious disease specialists say there's no need for panic.

Since June 23, there have been 173 monkeypox cases reported by the CDC.
