Montgomery County Fire Captain Zachary Adams said the baby boy was healthy and was taken to a local hospital.
It's the 36th baby box in Kentucky.
Since 2017 there have been 39 infants placed in a Baby Box.
The 28th Safe Haven Baby Box in Kentucky was installed Monday at the Jeffersontown Fire and EMS station.
They said Samuel was in a shoebox when he was taken to firefighters. It's a piece of his past they're holding onto for Samuel to keep.
The Lesley & Rhyan Prather Foundation and Shirley's Way are partnering to fund the installation of the boxes at the Louisville and Pleasure Ridge Park fire departments in 2024.
Monica Kelsey, founder of Safe Haven Baby Boxes, said there are 19 actives baby boxes across Kentucky. More are in production, which could increase Kentucky's total to 34 operational baby boxes by the end of the year.
The baby was taken to the hospital for further evaluation.
Safe Haven Baby Boxes allow parents to surrender their infants safely and anonymously.
The organization says the child was left in the baby box at the Clarksville Fire Department.
