Village 8, a landmark theater in Dupont Village in St. Matthews, has shown movies for around 50 years. The eight-screen theater is closing on July 5.
For years, Village 8 has been a second-run theater with discounted ticket prices.
Local restaurants, movie theaters and entertainment centers say they're worried about the new norm.
The company has bought several other properties in the area. But plans for those locations and Village Center have not been released.
