Smoke and flames from the fire on Monday afternoon could be seen for miles.

Firefighters battled a vacant warehouse fire near Louisville's Butchertown neighborhood Saturday night, rescuing about half a dozen people.

Firefighters say the fire started around 4:30 a.m. Monday at the Morton Warehouse near U.S. 41 and the Lloyd Expressway.

The fire caused bourbon to spill into the river from the warehouse -- and the effects are lethal for the fish.

Not much is left of the Jim Beam bourbon warehouse that went up in flames on Tuesday night.
