Louisville football crowd

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Sometimes, you just get lucky. Especially if the you is actually me.

For the first time in six weeks, I delivered a perfect 3-3 record picking college football games against the spread, thanks to Louisville handling Notre Dame, Rutgers hanging in there against Wisconsin and Iowa outlasting Purdue last Saturday.

But Tom Lane is still in the lead. Correction. Tom Lane is still comfortably ahead by nearly $900 after his first 0-3 week.

"I need to get my mojo back this week," Lane said. "My confidence has been shaken."

Hey, buddy, my confidence walked out that door in Week 2. It still has not returned. Sometimes you just get lucky.

Tom Lane

  • Last week bankroll: $3,000
  • This week bankroll: $2,700
  • Record last week: 0-3 — lost on Bowling Green, Texas and Washington State
  • Overall record: 11-7
  • $100 on Iowa (+10) at Wisconsin, Saturday, 4 p.m.
    • "Hoping the Hawkeyes putrid offense can be helped by close."
  • $100 on the over (45 total points) for Indiana at Michigan, Saturday, Noon.
    • "Looking for a pretty big number from the Wolverines at home and some help from a revamped IU offense."
  • $100 on Miami (Ohio) (-8.5) at Western Michigan, Saturday, 3:30 p.m.
    • "Didn't think my RedHawks would cover last week and they proved me wrong. Hoping they can keep rolling and make it six-for-their-last-six wins against the spread."

Rick Bozich

  • Last week bankroll: $1,525
  • This week bankroll: $1,825
  • Record last week: 3-0 — hit Louisville, Rutgers, Iowa.
  • Overall record: 8-9-1
  • $100 on Michigan (-33) vs. Indiana, Saturday Noon.
    • "The Wolverines have won their last 2 on the road by more than 33 points against better competition. The Hoosiers are coming off a bye with a new offensive coordinator but it difficult to imagine them being competitive in Ann Arbor."
  • $100 on Rutgers (-5) vs. Michigan State, Saturday, Noon.
    • "I've had good fortune with the Scarlet Knights this season because I think they're underrated and well coached. They're also 4-0 at home. The Spartans have lost their last three by 10 or more points and their coaching staff is a bit of a mess."
  • $50 on Maryland (-14) vs. Illinois, Saturday, 3:30 p.m.
    • "I'm concerned the Terps will be flat after losing for the first time to Ohio State last week, but the Illini looked terrible in their last road game against Purdue and then struggled to score seven points while losing at home to Nebraska last weekend."

Eric Crawford

  • Last week bankroll: $1,650
  • This week bankroll: $1,500
  • Record last week: 1-2 — hit Michigan; lost Kentucky and Notre Dame.
  • Overall record: 8-10
  • $100 on Pittsburgh (+7.5) at home vs. Louisville, Saturday, 6:30 p.m.
    • "I think the Cardinals will win, but this is a tough emotional spot for Louisville, and Pitt has had 2 weeks to prepare. It's a tricky one for Jeff Brohm and his team."

  • $100 on Kentucky (-2.5) at home vs. Missouri, Saturday, 7:30 p.m.
    • "The Wildcats have a lot to bounce back from after being blown out at Georgia. Missouri, meanwhile, is dealing with letting a golden opportunity slip away against LSU."

  • $100 on Duke (-3) vs. North Carolina State, Saturday, 8 p.m.
    • "The Wolfpack are good defensively, but Duke is better on both sides of the ball, and is playing at home."
