The 27-year-old Mitchell, who has been an NBA All-Star for the last five seasons, averaged 26.6 points per game while shooting 46.2% from the field and 36.8% from three for the 2023-2024 campaign. The Cavaliers went 48-34 while finishing fourth in the Eastern Conference, later falling in five games to the eventual NBA champion Boston Celtics in the conference semifinals.

Mitchell has been in Cleveland for two seasons, after starring with the Utah Jazz for five. He has led the Cavs in scoring in both of those seasons and even averaged a career-high 6.1 assists per game this past season.
