LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) — The University of Kentucky is headed back to the NCAA baseball tournament for a school-record fourth consecutive season.

The Wildcats earned a No. 3 seed in the Morgantown Regional and will open tournament play against No. 2 seed Wake Forest at noon Friday on ESPN2. 

The regional will be hosted by No. 1 seed West Virginia, the No. 16 national seed in the tournament. No. 4 seed Binghamton rounds out the field.

Kentucky enters the postseason with a 31-21 record after battling through SEC play, where the Wildcats finished 13-17 in conference games.

Coach Nick Mingione has now led Kentucky to five NCAA Tournament appearances during his tenure.

The NCAA tournament begins with regional play May 29 through June 1, followed by super regionals June 5-8. The College World Series is scheduled for June 12-22 in Omaha, Nebraska.
