LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) — Racing Louisville FC played its final league home game for two months before a big break on Saturday, falling to Bay FC, 1-0.
Although Racing controlled more than half of the game's possessions, a 76th-minute penalty kick secured the game for Bay FC at Lynn Family Stadium.
“Truthfully, I think we let this game slip,” said Racing coach Bev Yanez in a news release. “I think there was an opportunity for us to get three points out of this match."
With no score almost 30 minutes into the second half, a Bay player got tripped up in the box. There originally was no call, but it was challenged, reviewed and called a foul, setting up the penalty kick.
This is Racing's third loss in the past four match ups, dropping them out of playoff position.
Saturday was "Fill the Fam" at Lynn Family Stadium, trying to break the attendance of 11,365, but fell short with only 8,096 in attendance.
