LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) — Louisville fans have the chance to catch a new men's basketball team in action in the Bahamas at the end of the month.

The Cardinals will spend four days at Baha Mar Resort from July 27-30, playing two exhibition games as part of the 2026 Baha Mar Hoops Summer League.

Louisville is tentatively scheduled to play teams from the Bahamas on at 2 p.m. ET Tuesday, July 28, and at noon ET Wednesday, July 29. Both games will be held at the Baha Mar Convention, Arts and Entertainment Center.

This is the second time in three summers the Cardinals and head coach Pat Kelsey have played in Bah Mar.

The trip gives Louisville an early opportunity to test out a roster featuring nine newcomers, including one of the nation’s top transfer portal classes. This includes former Kansas center Flory BidungaOregon's Jackson Shelstad, USC's Gabe Dynes, Dayton guard De’Shayne Montgomery, Iowa forward Alvaro Folgueiras and Arkansas swingman Karter Knox.

Adrian Wooley and London Johnson return for the team this year. The Cardinals' incoming high school class includes 7-foot Obinna Ekezie Jr., 6-foot-8-inch forward Boyuan Zhang and 6-foot-1-inch guard Isaac Ellis.

Kelsey called the exhibitions a "business trip" for the team, giving the fresh group a chance to build its chemistry as team and fit in extra practice before the school year begins.

"When we played in the Baha Mar Hoops Summer League two years ago, we saw what a great benefit that extra court time could have on our team, and we are looking for a similar effect with this quick trip to Nassau," he said.
